Deep Poultry Myopathy is a disease or condition occurring in large breasted roaster chickens. Due to the large size of the breast in modern breeds of roaster chicken, the pectoralis minor muscle can become starved for blood and die off. This condition typically shows up when the chicken is butchered or when cut open after being roasted whole. It appears as a green streak near the breast bone.

The condition is not considered to be a food safety issue and the rest if the chicken may be consumed after the discolored portion is cut away.
