Ontario Reign[edit]

The Ontario Reign are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) which began play in the 2015–16 season. Based in Ontario, California and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings, Being founded in 2001 the team plays its home games at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. The franchise is a relocation of the former Manchester Monarchs AHL franchise when several other franchises created a Pacific Division in 2015.The colors of the team are black and grey and is owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group. Ontario Reign managed to get majority wins in their last two seasons, from 2015 to 2016 and from 2016 to 2017. The current roster of the team mostly comprises of players from United States and Canada, with one of the players being from Finland.

The Reign replaced the ECHL team of the same name, which played from 2008 until 2015, after which they moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, to play as the Manchester Monarchs.

Ontario Reign has gained popularity relatively fast because they only started 3 years ago. There are many sponsors that advertise their products and businesses when Ontario Reign is playing. The team plays in Citizens Business Bank Arena and had sponsorship all over the digital boards while they are playing. Few of the famous sponsors of the team include Toyota, McDonald's, Landmark and Verizon. These multi-million-dollar businesses have been known to sponsor big teams in the past. Since Ontario Reign is a relatively new team, getting big names on the sponsorship board is a big achievement.

2015/2016

During the 2015 - 2016 season, the best player according to the team statistics was Sean Backman. Backman played as the right winger position for the team and played all 68 games of the season. In the 68 games, he was the most successful player, scoring 21 goals and assisting 34 of them. He got a total of 55 points for that season.

2016/2017

During this season, T. J. Hensick was the star player, with 16 goals to his name and 36 assists. Hensick played in the center position and got 52 points for that season. Hensick was consistent, playing 67 games in the season.

2017/2018

This season is still on going with only 11 games played thus far. The best player for this season was Michael Mersch, who plays in the left-wing position. Mersch has scored 4 goals so far and made 6 assists. He has 10 points so far.

Junior Reign

The Junior Reign is a variety of different ice hockey leagues for children through the Ontario Reign, founded by Ben and Joyce Frank. Its intentions are for children to learn the game of ice hockey by utilizing games, coaches, and personal trainers[1]. There are three training camps offered to further the training and the teaching of their young players.[2] They have multiple leagues for children of all ages, boys and girls. The Junior Reign has two main locations with one in Riverside California and the other in Carlsbad California. The Jr. Reign is the official youth team for the Ontario Reign after shedding their name "Wildcats" in 2017.[3] USA hockey's American Developmental Model, A positive coaching alliance, and a unique and united structure are the main principles that the the Junior Reign base their organization on
