First design[edit]

The design of this template is based on the Template:Maths rating template -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 19:03, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Differences between the WikiProject Systems and WikiProject Math[edit]

There is a important difference between the assessment of both WikiProjects because the Wikiproject math introduced:

  • Priority-classes instead of importance-classes.

Now the Template:Math rating and now the Template:Sys rating uses codes/operations like:

  • {{#switch:{{#if:{{{priority|}}}|{{{priority}}}|{{{importance}}}}}

And the folowing operation:

  • | style="padding:0px 5px;" width=145 {{#if:{{{importance|}}}|{{#ifeq:{{{importance}}}|NA|{{NA-Class}}|{{{{{importance}}}-Class|category=Category:{{{importance}}}-Priority Systems articles}} Priority}}|{{#if:{{{priority|}}}|{{#ifeq:{{{priority}}}|NA|{{NA-Class}}|{{{{{priority}}}-Class|category=Category:{{{priority}}}-Priority Systems articles}} Priority}}|{{!}}[[:Category:Unassessed importance Systems articles|Importance unassessed]].}}}}

Now I am not sure how this will effect the result of the assessment.

In an older version of the Math template from 2006, see here, I saw that the original first operation could/should just be:
  • {{#switch:{{{importance}}
In a 2007 version, see here of the second operation was:
  • | style="padding:0px 5px;" width=145 {{#if:{{{importance|}}}|{{{{{importance}}}-Class|category=Category:{{{importance}}}-importance mathematics articles}} Importance|{{!}}Importance unassessed.}}
-- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 19:09, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Solution[edit]

In a first attempt to solve this problem, see here, I just change (back)

  • "Category:Top-Priority Systems articles" into "Category:Top-importance Systems articles"
  • etc.

The full syntax of the rating template[edit]

The full syntax of the maths rating template is:

{{maths rating
|nested=
|small=
|class=
|importance=
|field=
|historical=
|vital=
|comment= (deprecated, see below for how to add comments)
|frequentlyviewed= (not for manual use, see below)
|ACD=
}}

And the (reduced) syntax of the sys rating template is:

{{sys rating
|nested=
|class=
|importance=
|field=
}}

One or more aspect can be replaced if needed. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 21:08, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
