The Making of Star Trek[edit]

I think this book deserves its own article, and a spot on this template. Is there a reason it doesnt have one? I believe its pretty important. amazon link provided.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What counts as a notable novel?[edit]

I just noticed how many novels there are with Wikipedia articles. Category:Star Trek novels How do you decide which ones to list and which ones not to? Dream Focus 19:53, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea. i tried to specify notable SF novels at Template:Science fiction, and they were all removed, as were notable authors and editors. I think the templates, being essentially original research, are composed at the whim of whichever editors are most interested, or most pushy. While i suppose a good guideline for templates would be to not make value judgements, and simply set rational inclusion criteria, i dont think this is practiced. If we did this here, we would have no links to individual novels, only a single link to each article for a large series, say the novels for each franchise. good luck changing it, after my experience having my edits torn to pieces at the aformentioned template.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 19:02, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
