Sortable party name[edit]

To make the party name sortable when using this template, do not merge the header cells for the colour and party name, because this confuses the tablesorter as to which data columns belong to which header.

Instead:

  1. Make the table sortable in the usual way:
    {| class="wikitable sortable"

  2. Then create separate header cells for the party colour and the party name but make the colour column unsortable and hide the border separating the two cells:
    ! ...previous columns here... !! class="unsortable" style="border-right:hidden;" | <!-- blank for colour --> !! Party !! ...subsequent columns here...

Ability to merge[edit]

This is currently not able to be merged unless I am unaware of how to do it in this case. This feature is needed. Sparkle1 (talk) 14:09, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
