Replacing "1889" alias with "1889a" flag[edit]

I note that Image:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg is not used in icon form in any article (which makes sense in that it was only official for four days), so I think the 1889 flag variant label is much more appropriate for use with Image:Flag of Brazil (1889-1960).svg, which was used for 71 years. I will migrate all instances of the 1889a selector to use the more logical 1889 label instead, and remove the "4 day flag" from this template until it is truly needed. Add November 15-19, 1889 flag[edit]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.102.163.160 (talkcontribs)

OP: please provide some background or a rationale for your request. A link to the flag would be helpful too — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:02, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the 1889 flag?[edit]

This flag (File:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg) should not be ignored. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.13.177.55 (talk) 12:24, 15 April 2017‎ (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. — JJMC89(T·C) 17:36, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing "1889" alias with November 1889 flag[edit]

This flag (File:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg) should not be ignored. Add another alias with this flag. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.46.203.63 (talk) 12:08, 16 April 2017‎ (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. File:Flag of Brazil (1889-1960).svg is already in the template. — JJMC89(T·C) 01:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@JJMC89: The IP was referring to the flag that Brazil had for 4 days in November 1889, which is different from the 1889-1960 flag. However, I agree that there's no consensus to replace the 1889 alias with the short-lived flag. --Ahecht (TALK

Adding "1889a" alias with November 15-19, 1889 flag[edit]

This flag (File:Flag of Brazil 15-19 November.svg) should not be ignored.

Not done: The country data templates only go down to the year as far as specificity goes. There is currently no way to bring that accuracy down to a five-day period. Primefac (talk) 17:18, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Problems involving Navy template[edit]

  • The template is using the national flag instead of the Navy flag.
  • The marines variant links to Brazilian Navy instead of Brazilian Marine Corps. 200.171.226.20 (talk) 14:47, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: Read Template:Country data Brazil#Military ensigns for explanation, and evidence that the templates work, and are linked correctly.
Discuss it at WT:WikiProject Brazil if you want to build a consensus to change them. Cabayi (talk) 15:51, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@200.171.226.20: It's using the national flag because that's the naval ensign. – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 16:53, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Better late than never, I have raised this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Brazil#Brazilian Navy - flag/ensign templates. Davidships (talk) 13:26, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 7 January 2019[edit]

flag alias-1992 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2000).svg
flag alias-2004 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2004).svg
flag alias-2007 = Flag of Brazil (WFB 2007).svg
Remove these flags as they are just based on the shades used in pictures in different editions of the CIA World Factbook (you can see if you open the flag image) and not are official or even real changes to the flag used by Brazil, they should not be included and especially not linked to a specific year
These files are not used on any sites except the automatically filled in "non-permanent UN members" on United Nations Security Council Resolutions

 Not done for now:
Havsjö, as you pointed out yourself Template:Infobox UN resolution needs to be altered first so that the unwanted flags are no longer in use. Cabayi (talk) 08:28, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Cabayi Done! Sorry, I didnt see anything on the template page and thought it was maybe some "behind the scenes" thing for admins, but I found if If I edited and have fixed it (and for other flags in this situation as well) --Havsjö (talk) 09:35, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 8 September 2021[edit]

Please create the following template:

Template armed forces link to Brazilian Armed Forces (probably by creating the parameter |link alias-military=, to result in {armed forces|Brazil}})
