Organization[edit]

At the time of writing, this template organizes the events of the 1862 Dakota War / Sioux Uprising / U.S.-Dakota War into "Fighting in Southwestern Minnesota," "Fighting in the Big Woods," "Fighting in North Dakota," and "Massacres." Is this the most logical organization? IMO a chronological timeline would be clearer. Jbt89 (talk) 04:18, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're right. However, I feel like we need a more complete list of events in the infobox. Some notable massacres are missing, such as the Sacred Heat Massacre, Beaver Creek Massacre, and some other events like the trials need their own articles. Acton Massacre[edit]

The war is generally considered to start with the Attack on the Lower Sioux Agency, but should the Acton Massacre (note that this is separate from the Battle of Acton) also be included in the template? Jbt89 (talk) 04:20, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think so, I can definitely start work on an article for the Acton murders. Ironmarshal1805 (talk) 05:48, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
