Windowgate[edit]

  • Length is good, it's new enough, and the hook is pretty good. I would suggest adding something to explain who Matt Prior is (eg. "cricketer Matt Prior once accidentally..."). I am a little bit skeptical of the notability of the topic though. I'm unconvinced of the enduring significance of a cricket player breaking a window. A second opinion would be helpful. • I've clarified the hook. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 07:32, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Breaking a window by itself wouldn't have been such a big problem, but it's the location (Lord's/MCC, often called the "Home of Cricket") that made the incident so significant. As you can see from the sources in the article, it was quite a big deal at the time and both the England team and Prior got a lot of flack from it, and the incident remains a black mark on Prior's cricketing career. I guess I'm just not the target audience for cricket-related articles. But I think it meets the criteria for a good DYK nomination, so well done. TheBlueCanoe 06:01, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
