Wax foundation[edit]

Created by Nikola Smolenski (talk). Self nominated at 03:18, 8 November 2013 (UTC).

  • Surely you mean, domesticated bees. Wild bees still make their own. Gigs (talk) 22:11, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
  • @Nikola Smolenski: There is a slightly more serious problem present, which is the fact that the article doesn't even explicitly mention that all modern bees use this, only that some do. --Jakob (Scream about the things I've broken) 00:19, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
It is a pun, referencing "considered to be one of the most important inventions in modern beekeeping" line. Perhaps it could be changed to:
ALT1:... that modern honeybees don't have to make their own honeycomb, but can build it off the wax foundation?
(By the way, there are no wild and domesticated bees; the same species that is kept in the apiaries also lives in the wild.) Nikola (talk) 06:48, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I know what you mean, but I couldn't think of a better word. What I'm saying is that surely there still exist wild colonies that do not use a beekeeper's foundations, right? If not, that fact would be a much more catchy hook! Gigs (talk) 16:19, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
