... that in United States v. Ramsey the Supreme Court ruled that the U.S. could try a white for murdering an Indian on former reservation land, putting an end to the Osage Indian murders?

- ALT1: ... that the Osage Indian murders were ended by United States v. Ramsey which allowed the federal trial of a white who murdered an Indian on former reservation land?
The length and date of creation of this article are fine but the hook is unsatisfactory as, as far as I can see, there is no reference for the fact that the trial ended the Osage Indian murders. This fact is mentioned, but not referenced, in the lead but not mentioned again in the body of the article. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:02, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
