Thubten Kunphela[edit]

Kunphela in Kalimpong
Kunphela in Kalimpong
  • ... that Kunphela (pictured), a favorite personal attendant of the 13th Dalai Lama, was a co-founder of the Tibet Improvement Party with the goal of restructuring the Tibetan society by revolution? Source: Goldstein (1989), p.151: "Kumbela became much closer to the Dalai Lama than attendants usually did.""He is, next to the Dalai Lama, undoubtedly the most powerful person in Tibet." p.450: "... sought not simply a change in regents, but the 'liberation of Tibet from the existing tyrannical Government' and the revolutionary restructuring of the Tibetan government and society."
    • ALT1:... that Kunphela (pictured), the most powerful person in Tibet next to the 13th Dalai Lama in early 1930s, later co-founded a political party with the goal of "liberation of Tibet from the existing tyrannical Government"? Source: Same as above.

  • No review yet as I have fewer than 5 DYK nominations ... Actually this is my first! Esiymbro (talk) 14:29, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Esiymbro, both of your hooks are too long for DYK. The max allowed is 200 characters, including spaces; yours are 227 and 207 respectively. Please propose new or revised hooks that are shorter, keeping in mind that while 200 is the ceiling, the "sweet spot" is around 150 or 160 characters. (I've added (pictured) to both, which is excluded from the length count.) Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:08, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks for reminding! I have edited the first hook (deleted "a political party based in Kalimpong, India") and added a new hook. Esiymbro (talk) 04:09, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
  • @Esiymbro: New, in time, long enough, sourced, hook checks out, no copyvios detected, no QPQ needed. Approving ALT0, which is sourced and checks out (made a few changes to the article based on your quotations to make it more clear). Striking ALT2, as for it to be approved the facts must appear in the article (nothing there about an "anti-religious party.") --Usernameunique (talk) 07:26, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
