The Melrose Hotel[edit]

New enough, but hardly long enough. I shortened the lead, which was nothing more than a repetition of the main section without citations. The length now barely tops 1500 characters. It also reads like a Michelin Guide review (actually, the only review that wasn't cited.) Isn't there anything notable to say about the place? No mentions in books or newspapers? I also assume that this is your fifth DYK nomination, so no QPQ is necessary. Yoninah (talk) 21:00, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
As Yoninah notes, this is based entirely on commercial travel site reviews, which are problematic, and two primary sources. The length now barely tops 1200 after redundancies and irrelevancies are removed, and the original hook fact is not fully supported in the sources. The ALT1 is not interesting and "full set" is vague. This nom has similar issues to several other recent hotel articles you've submitted, with not a notable independent secondary source to be seen. There was a discussion here on this topic: non-commercial secondary sources are the gold standard, and there aren't any for this article. The Kayak source has identical wording to the Expedia section of the Lonely Planet source. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:17, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
