The House of Houdini[edit]

The House of Houdini
The House of Houdini
  • ... that visitors to The House of Houdini (pictured) can only gain admittance by solving an "Entrance Arcane"? Compeer (December 13, 2016). "House of Houdini Opens in Hungary". The Magic Compass. Society of American Magicians. Retrieved January 23, 2017. "Visitors can enter The House anytime during operating hours, but admission to The Collection is only open to guests that can solve the "Entrance Arcane". You read that correctly, entrance to the magic area is possible only after successfully decoding the secret message on the ticket. If a visitor fails to decode the message, the secret passage will not appear and The House of Houdini will refund the ticket. Of course, the staff is always happy to provide helpful hints to solve the secret.".
    • ALT1:... that that visitors to Budapest's The House of Houdini (pictured) can only gain admittance by solving an "Entrance Arcane"? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
  • Comment: It would also be good if somebody removed the "Merger" proposal/flag from the article. IMO, it is a WP:Speedy keep in light of the fact that the moving editor withdrew the nomination, because of the improvements in the article. 7&6=thirteen () 12:51, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Passed see below Article length, newness, hook and ALT1 verified. Article is well-cited, no copyvios detected, apart from a similarity with a source in the short sentence: ...original props from the latest "HOUDINI" film. There is a problem with a sentence: Joe M. Turner, IBM President exchanged commemorative plaques with Merlini at the then proposed site of the museum on Houdini's birthday. This followed an earlier exhibition in Milan, Italy. Turner does not appear to be IBM president. When these are corrected, it should be good to go. I saw the merge discussion and it appears it will be closed in favour of retaining the article, so that does not appear to be an issue. Dr. K. 23:54, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Reply Good catch. The source did say, "IBM President," and that has now been clarified. I have addressed all of the issues you mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 7&6=thirteen (talkcontribs)
    • Good go. Nice article about an interesting magician. Good work 7&6=thirteen. Thank you for expanding and fixing the article. All the best. Dr. K. 16:23, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
To clarify, the Merge discussion is still open, not closed. The moving party agreed it should be withdrawn, and I think that amounts to grounds for a WP:Speedy keep; and it was a groundless request when originally proffered, with no compliance with WP:Before. 7&6=thirteen () 12:32, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
    • This article needs some attention to the infobox; an error message appears in edit mode and there is a "Invalid designation" notice at the foot. Apart from this, the hook is not really correct and needs to be rephrased; anyone can visit the museum, its only the "Collection" which has this restricted entry. • ALT2 ... that visitors to the collection at The House of Houdini (pictured) can only gain admittance by solving an "Entrance Arcane"? 12:37, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Comment: It would also be good if somebody removed the "Merger" proposal/flag from the article. IMO, it is a WP:Speedy keep in light of the fact that the moving editor withdrew the nomination, because of the improvements in the article.
    • Replacing tick for ALT2 and striking other hooks. Other comments have been dealt with and merger tag removed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:07, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
