Soviet Census (1959)[edit]

Created by Futurist110 (talk). Self nominated at 08:18, 14 June 2013 (UTC).

  • The article is new and long enough (2048 characters). This article mainly consists of analysis of the censuses which are primary sources. Analyses presented in this article are rarely if ever supported by secondary or tertiary sources. This is not significant issue because most of the assertions are blue sky type. Still, I don't think this article is ready for the first page until more secondary sources are used to support its text.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 15:11, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Please give me several days and I will do my best to address all of your concerns in regards to this article. Thank you very much. Futurist110 (talk) 07:52, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
For the record, this article--Template:Did you know nominations/Opium production in Burma--is my Quid Pro Quo for this DYK? nomination. Futurist110 (talk) 08:10, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Please give me several additional days to do this. Futurist110 (talk) 02:36, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
  • It has been over two weeks since the above. If nothing new is accomplished in the next few days, by the time the nomination is a month old, this should probably be closed. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:15, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I am fixing it right now. Futurist110 (talk) 01:12, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I have now fixed everything in this article. I am very sorry for the delay. This article should be good to go right now. Futurist110 (talk) 02:17, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. Holocaust assertion is not cited in the source used to support it but I think it can be considered as Blue Sky. Ethnic map from 1974 is not directly related to this census, but in the absence of 1959 map (I could not find one) I don't consider this an issue. The article did not have proper lede (which is not an issue but improvement opportunity). I formatted the first sentence per MOS ( bolded the title and moved part of the lede which described background of the census to appropriate section). The hook is not to long (106 characters), cited in the text and interesting.
Good to go.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 08:06, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I have now added an additional source for the Holocaust. This source contains this line: "While much of Soviet Jewry was decimated in the Holocaust, those living in Russia proper were mostly spared." I think that this line is good enough as a citation for this article. Futurist110 (talk) 08:26, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
