Memorial ceremony in Sweden, 2015

  • Recent GA, a very detailed and well-referenced article on a very important topic. QPQ done. I have some doubts about the hook, though: to the average reader, the hook will make no sense, because a) both genocides mentioned are really not that well known, and b) what does "closely related" mean? Given the obscurity of the topic, I would say that the event itself is in need of explanation, so something like: '...that during World war I, the Ottoman Empire engaged in a mass slaughter and deportation of its Syriac Christian population?' or similar. I also heartily recommend adding a photo from the article, so that this will be placed first in the DYK list of the day. Constantine 14:26, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for your review. I am proposing
ALT1...that, in addition to Armenians, the Assyrians faced genocide (memorial pictured) in the Ottoman Empire during World War I?
