Queen Elizabeth Way[edit]

The Queen Elizabeth Way near Toronto in 1940

  • ... that the Queen Elizabeth Way (pictured in 1940) was the first intercity divided highway in North America when it opened in June 1937?
  • ALT1:... that the Queen Elizabeth Way (pictured in 1940) featured the longest stretch of continuously illuminated roadway in the world prior to World War II?

  • I can see the points made in the lead, but I can't find them in the body of the text and cited. FWIW I think the second hook is catchier....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:17, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I was a bit surprised that neither fact was in the body of the article, especially given that one of the criteria for a GA is that it follows WP:LEAD. As Cas Liber notes, DYK requires that hook facts are in the article (in this case, they do appear but only in the lead), and that they are supported by inline source citations. There are no such citations, and this must be fixed before the DYK can be approved. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:03, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Hmmm... I'm surprised as well, although I suppose you miss certain things in an article of that size! I've added the facts and citations into the Middle Road subsection of the History. Cheers, Floydian τ ¢ 17:55, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Full review needed now that hook sourcing has been added. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:57, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
  • offline hook accepted in good faith. Age of article ok. Two refs checked - both align with article and neither has close paraphrasing. good to go. neutrally written article. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 11:23, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
