Can be renominated if/when it is promoted to GA. Given the wait for GAN reviews can take months, it would be better not to leave this particular nomination open indefinitely until then. 97198 (talk) 23:52, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

Peter Parker (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

  • ... that for the Spider-Man suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel Studios went through the Spider-Man comics and "pull[ed] out all the sort of fun and wacky things the [original] suit did" to include in it? Source: IGN
    • ALT1: ... that the new Spider-Man suit at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) is based on the suit in the early Spider-Man comics? Source: IGN
    • Reviewed: 2nd DYK nomination; exempt from QPQ.
    • Comment: Would like confirmation if this was actually expanded "fivefold", and image is for if ALT1 is used.

5x expanded by SirDot (talk) and ZooBlazer (talk). Nominated by SirDot (talk) at 18:51, 29 July 2022 (UTC).

  • This has not been expanded even remotely close to fivefold within the past seven days; the expansion in that period was from 33217 to 33383 prose characters, which is virtually non-existent. Even going from SirDot's most recent expansion on July 9 (20 days ago), the article was already 24741 prose characters before the start of that expansion, and would have needed to grow to 123705 prose characters, which simply isn't feasible. My suggestion is that the article be improved with a view toward becoming a Good Article; the GA criteria is what articles have to meet to be eligible for nomination as a newly listed GA. More information on the GA process is in the GA nomination instructions. As a general comment, I would expect an article about Peter Parker, the MCU character, to have a hook that mentions Peter or the character of Spider-Man, rather than the suit. Note also that images for DYK must be free images; non-free images are not allowed, which pretty much excludes screen shots, posters, and so on. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:26, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
@BlueMoonset: When I was creating this page, I was completely unsure if it was 5x expanded so I appreciate the confirmation/clarification. I contacted a potential GA reviewer that I believe will review it soon (this is a GAN), and as for your "mention Peter/Spider-Man" comment, I couldn't find anything interesting in Concept and creation and the main hook is what I came up with. I started a discussion at WT:DYK and have been clarified of DYK only using free images. I would appreciate any non-suit hook ideas, BlueMoonset. — SirDot (talk) 22:42, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
