Opaline Deveraux Wadkins[edit]

Created by SusunW (talk). Self-nominated at 02:41, 18 December 2015 (UTC).

A woman deserving the awards she got, on good sources. What do you think of mentioning (also) that she founded those training schools? Had her named day? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:47, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
Totally weird that I never got pinged on this or if I did, I missed it. Sorry, Gerda Arendt What about:
ALT1 ... that Opaline Wadkins, first African American to earn a master's degree in nursing education from the University of Oklahoma, created the first pediatric service for Native Americans in SW Oklahoma? or
ALT2 ... that November 14, 1976 was proclaimed by Governor Boren as Opaline Wadkins Day to honor the first African American to earn a master's degree in nursing education from the University of Oklahoma? SusunW (talk) 05:45, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Sorry that I didn't ping, - I trust that people watch their noms;) - All three fine now,I prefer the last, think that's really outstanding! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:10, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Gerda Arendt! I had it watchlisted, but never saw a notice. Last night I wondered what happened to her and voilà! Gracias, mi amiga. SusunW (talk) 14:49, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
