Mining industry of Morocco[edit]
... that the mining industry of Morocco includes more phosphate production than any country save for the United States and China?

This reference [1] confirms that mining contributed up to 35% of exports and 5% of GDP in 2011 as per reference. I have made the correction. 75% reserves is correct as per this reference. Hence, I am suggesting an alt hook.

- @Nvvchar: Just need a little help on verification on this. I assume you meant the "ALT1 Hook" to be ...third largest production of phosphate, behind China and USA so stuck the one on top which was the original hook. Too many hooks and not enough RAM. Morocco - nominated 1 day after created, length of over 3400 characters is adequate, reference citations check, hook source of "has the world's third largest production of phosphate, behind China and USA" I seem to have lost (now found).

Found it in Morocco Labor Laws and Regulations Handbook, page 265. For "has the world's third largest production of phosphate, behind China (1st) and USA (2nd)."

As far as I can determine, neither of the sources given for the ALT1 hook are current: the moroccobusinessnews source dates from 2005 and doesn't mention China or the United States; the end of the paragraph from the Mining Laws and Regulations book seems to be sourced to 2009, and is strictly in past tense (as opposed to the previous two paragraphs, both of which are in present tense): "possessed about three-quarters" and "was the third-ranked producer of phosphates after China and the United States". Also, the hook's "behind China and USA" has grammatical problems, aside from the fact that "USA" shouldn't be used to describe the United States (see MOS:NOTUSA). I can see how a reviewer might not be acquainted with the "USA" issue, but the wording itself should have been addressed in the review. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:12, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

- ALT2 refers to a statement on the page that indicates "phosphate is ranked third in the world". The reference [3]--which is not directly at the end of the sentence, but after the following sentence--states that Morocco was the world's third ranked producer of phosphate after China and the U.S. according to the Arab Greek Chamber, 2011).
