Maury AOC[edit]
- ... that the wines of Maury are still made using the technique of halting fermentation with grape spirits perfected in 1299 by Catalan alchemist Arnaldus de Villa Nova (pictured)?

- Comment: Mostly offline texts but I tried to sprinkle in a few online refs (FN#1 and 7) that would help verify what de Villanova did and the winemaking process for vin doux naturels.

Page is new enough, long enough and within policy. Checks of the few online sources show no concerns with copyvios or close paraphrasing. The hook is properly formatted, interesting and directly referenced. I'm assuming good faith on the reference, as it is a registration-only online ref.
