Matthew Brisbane[edit]

  • ... that Antarctic explorer Matthew Brisbane survived three antarctic shipwrecks but was murdered in the Falkland Islands in 1833?

  • Everything looks good to me. It's long enough, properly sourced, the hook fact is in the article, the tone is good, et cetera. I'd say it's good to go. :) Futurist110 (talk) 00:59, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
  • A very interesting and comprehensive article. Some concerns about the length of the quoted material, especially from the account of Brisbane's death. Although it should be out of copyright, it must be properly sourced, and it's a bit much to include, I think. Oddly, the reference links to Wikipedia's page for the letter "S"; this must be fixed and a correct source given. Another fix needs to be made to ref 33, which is a bare url. • Think I've fixed the link to the wikisource document. Copyright expired some time ago but if you consider it would be better as a narrative rather than I quote I can do so. Reference 33 is the Argentine and Packet News, I added a link to a website which contains an extract. I was slightly concerned about using it as an WP:SPS but after referring to the original its a verbatim extract. Not sure what to do here, I could simply remove the link? • Given the age of the sources, the amount of quoting is technically okay – but stylistically, I would agree with BlueMoonset that it's a bit much, so you might want to turn some of it into a narrative. I've done some cleanup on the references too. Nikkimaria (talk) 15:20, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Much better in terms of style, AGF on the book sources. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:21, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
