Billie Joe Armstrong

  • Hook is over 200 character. No further action could be taken until it is fixed. Lajbi Holla @ meCP 20:14, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Second problem: it's on the wrong section of the DYK if the expansion started on 14th. It's the 17th section. Lajbi Holla @ meCP 20:29, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Third problem: Although article is long enough and new enough and hook is neutral, I can't see the MTV reference giving details about the date of his illness. In other words I couldn't verify the statement "three days before Green Day's performance". There's only one mention of "three days", which is three days after their Bologna concert was cancelled due illness or something like this (but the concert date isn't given). Any chance I'm missing something? Lajbi Holla @ meCP 20:39, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Fourth issue: The Belfast Telegraph dated Wednesday 5 September 2012 reports he was rushed to hospital on Sunday, while the VMA took place on the 6th, so in my book it's four days before the concert. Furthermore it cites TMZ that "Billie Joe is struggling with his throat. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles earlier this week the star mouthed that his voice is completely gone". These are not the typical symptoms of a dehydration but rather a common sore throat. So it contradicts the other source. Lajbi Holla @ meCP 22:25, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

A bit of controversial thing so I've proposed the following other hooks:

  • ALT2 - ...the official live video of "Let Yourself Go" was revealed a month before the release of the song?
  • ALT3 - ..."Let Yourself Go" was released on September 5, but it was also played at Green Day's secret show of 2011 on 28 October?

I'd tend to support ALT2. TheSpecialUser TSU 16:06, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

  • As for ALT2 I don't feel like that an upload date for a Youtube video qualifies for as a undoubtful source when it comes to releases. What's the guarantee it wasn't aired before (e.g. on TV or on iTunes or on Sessions@AOL or was just simply uploaded-removed-and uploaded again with a new date)?
  • ALT3 is also problematic the Rolling Stone magazine dated on 28th October says the concert was the previous night, which means it was on the 27th, while the other reference brooklynvegan.com reports about a concert on 17th November. The whole stuff needs a bigger clean-up.Lajbi Holla @ meCP 17:49, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry for the confusion caused. Both are actually different shows. The 27th one was held in NYC while the 17th one in TX. So here is the ALT4:
  • ALT4 - ..."Let Yourself Go" was released on September 5 2012, however, it was also played at Green Day's secret show on 27 October 2011?
  • Okay but you still wrote 28 October. It's the same as ALT3. Lajbi Holla @ meCP 16:17, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Important note: the hook was promoted, but was one of seven in a set that was supposed to have only six, so it is being returned to the pool and will have to wait a little longer. The ALT4 hook was chosen, but it was edited as follows while at prep (including a date format fix), and this version (below) should be used when it is promoted. • ... that while "Let Yourself Go" was released on 5 September 2012, it had been played at Green Day's secret show on 27 October 2011?
