John Netherland[edit]

Created by Bms4880 (talk). Nominated by Orlady (talk) at 00:55, 27 April 2013 (UTC).

  • Article created on April 26, 8174 characters, and the article is well sourced. The hook is interesting. However, I can't find anything in the source that explicitly says he was unable to run for a second term due to the change in the constitution. I apologize if I missed something. • Look at the bottom of the first column of text on the first page. The language of the old text is flowery, but it says that the 1834 constitution set the minimum age for state senators to thirty years, and that this "gave a temporary pause" to Netherland's political career. Unfortunately, however, I find that he didn't participate in the convention of 1834. I thought I had verified that in one of the article sources, but I didn't find it now, and he's not in the list of participants here. Please excuse me while I look for a new hook! --Orlady (talk) 04:13, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
OK, this isn't as interesting, but I think it will work:

Article new enough, long enough, fully referenced. ALT1 hook verified, approved. Good to go. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:28, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
