- ... that despite topping his class at Sandhurst, John Gellibrand (pictured) found the prospects for promotion in the British Army so bleak that he resigned his commission and moved to Tasmania to grow apples?
Source: "He decided on a military career and, after entering the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, in September 1892, gained the highest marks in the aggregate at the final examinations a year later... " [1] "Gellibrand's frustration at lack of promotion boiled over... He refered to George Ansell, six months junior to Gellibrand a a second lieutenant, but now a lieutenant colonel in the 5th Dragoon Guards" (p. 46) "sent his gardener, Mr Warlege out to Risdon to look at the apple orchard... they agreed to buy the property for ₤1,800" (p. 52) [2]

Made GA newly enough. Certainly long enough and within policy. Hook is interesting, but I'd wikilink Sandhurst because it's not obvious what it is for most people. It is supported by the source you include in the nomination, but in the article body the decision to become farmer wasn't linked to frustation over promotion. Could you explain that in the article? QPQ is done and the image has legitimate copyright tags. HaEr48 (talk) 23:52, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- Linked Sandhurst. Someone was complaining about the hooks having too many wikilinks, so I didn't link it. Since then someone responded with a cricket hook lacking links that clean bowled the regulars, so we're back to square one. Added a bit linking his decision with frustration at promotion prospects.
