Hubertus Leteng[edit]

  • ... that in June 2017, 69 priests of the Diocese of Ruteng resigned en masse to protest the leadership of Bishop Hubertus Leteng, who they accused of keeping a mistress and taking more than $100,000 from church funds? Sources:[1][2]
    • ALT1:... that 69 of the Ruteng diocese's priests resigned in June 2017 to protest the leadership of Bishop Hubertus Leteng, who they accused of secretly taking church money and keeping mistress? (Same sources as above)

  • Article is new enough, big enough, correct person credited, there are adequate references, and the tone is neutral despite the nature of article. No copyright problem detected by earwig. The main hook fails the length test being 208 characters. The alt1 hook is short enough, interesting, but may cover negative aspects - but seems acceptable as it definitely sticks to facts. Hook is cited and supported by the reference. QPQ performed. Good to go. with alt1. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:18, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
  • @Graeme Bartlett: this is a BLP. I'm hesitant to print accusations like these on the main page. He wasn't even tried in a court of law. Yoninah (talk) 22:28, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
  • This is the most interesting aspect of our topic. However it may also be a good enough hook to remove the accusation, then people can read the article to find out more:
    • ALT2:... that 69 of the Ruteng diocese's priests resigned in June 2017 to protest the leadership of Bishop Hubertus Leteng? (Same sources as above)
  • @Graeme Bartlett: that's better, but maybe we could add in some details:
  • ALT3: ... that two-thirds of the priests in the Diocense of Ruteng signed a 2015 letter of "no confidence" in Bishop Hubertus Leteng, and this year, 69 priests resigned in protest? Yoninah (talk) 22:48, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
  • that alt3 is also a suitable hook, short enough. good to go with alt3. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:17, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
