Hasan Fehmi (Ataç)‎[edit]

Hasan Fehmi (Ataç)‎

  • ... that Hasan Fehmi (Ataç) (pictured) stated that the deportations during the Armenian Genocide happened because the "future of our fatherland" was "dearer and more sacred to us than our own lives"?

  • The hook could use a little work IMO. I will probably suggest an alt shortly. Gatoclass (talk) 16:13, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Okay, here you are:

  • ALT1: ... that Turkish politician Hasan Fehmi (Ataç) (pictured) argued that the deportations during the Armenian Genocide were necessary "to ensure the future of our fatherland"?

I have struck the original hook as I don't think it makes the point with sufficient clarity. Gatoclass (talk) 13:30, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm fine with ALT1. New reviewer needed. Proudbolsahye (talk) 00:55, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

What are all these "(Ataç)s" about? Significance needs to be explained. Johnbod (talk) 14:44, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Do you mean the pictures? They're just there as other photo options for the hook. Proudbolsahye (talk) 22:05, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
No, what does (Ataç) mean, and why do you add it every time his name is mentioned??? Johnbod (talk) 05:16, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Because there were two Hasan Fehmi's who served during the Turkish parliament in the early republic. They went by nicknames...Ataç is the nickname for this politician and the other Hasan Fehmi (Kolay) was the deputy of Bursa. Proudbolsahye (talk) 05:33, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
And the reader of the article is supposed to know that how exactly???? You should explain it in the lead and then not mention it every time, or use it here in the hook. Johnbod (talk) 20:04, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
  • The above issues, noted by Johnbod, have not been addressed and need to be in the article (and possibly in the hook as well) before a review can recommence. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that Turkish politician Hasan "Ataç" Fehmi (pictured) argued that the deportations during the Armenian Genocide were necessary "to ensure the future of our fatherland"?
  • ALT3: ... that Turkish politician Hasan Fehmi (pictured) argued that the deportations during the Armenian Genocide were necessary "to ensure the future of our fatherland"?
Sorry for not being able to go over this. It's been a very busy week for me. I can see that user Esemono has fixed the issue. I appreciate that. Proudbolsahye (talk) 07:35, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Cleaned up the name issue and did some other maintenance -- Esemono (talk) 07:18, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
  • This article is new enough and long enough. It seems that the above issues have been addressed. Going with ALT3. Any of the images can be used as they are all in the public domain. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:06, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
