HMS Racer (1833)
- ... that Racer's hurricane of 1837 was named after a Royal Navy vessel that was dismasted by the high winds? Source: I don't have access to the sources here, taken from those used in today's featured article Racer's hurricane
- ALT1: ... that the commanding officer of HMS Racer was drowned when his boat was upset in 1840? Source: "George-Perct, Com. RN, b. 11 Aug. 1807, was drowned off Vera Cruz y the upsetting of his boat, 14 Sept. 1840, whilst in command of HMS Racer" from: Lodge, Edmund (1860). - Article is new enough, sourced, neutral – looks good unless one is swayed by Wikipedia:Queen Elizabeth slipped majestically into the water which is of course a matter of taste. Hooks are of good length, appear sourced, and are interesting enough. QPQ has been done.
