Gazetteer of the Persian Gulf, Oman and Central Arabia[edit]
- ... that the Gazetteer of the Persian Gulf, Oman and Central Arabia (pictured) is considered to be "the most important single source of historical material on the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia"?
- ALT1 ... that the Gazetteer of the Persian Gulf, Oman and Central Arabia by J. G. Lorimer (pictured) is considered to be "the most important single source of historical material on the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia"?
- Comment: Image can be excluded if it is unnecessary. Also the inverted commas can also be removed if need be.

- Article is new enough and long enough. Well written article on an interesting topic. Image is PD but it won't be used as it is just too dull. What about an image of Lorimer or something eye-catching from the book? Hook is correctly formatted. I am not sure about the term "British Raj government". Don't we just mean the British government in India? Some of the wording is a little too close to ref 1 and needs to be changed. Run it through http://tools.wmflabs.org/dupdet/ for examples. How many DYK's have you done? Is a QPQ review required? Philafrenzy (talk) 21:18, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- With regards to the image issue, I'm in favour of this photo of Lorimer. The British Raj is the name given to British-ruled India, not specifically to the government. As such, I've added the government bit for clarification. It appears the article underwent c/e edits overnight, it may have resolved the closeness of the reference issues. Also did Template:Did you know nominations/Madhavi Sarkar for QPQ. All should be good now. Droodkin (talk) 10:35, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- I endorse Droodkin's new hook as J.G. Lorimer's picture has been integrated into the hook. Elspamo4 (talk) 04:23, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
I made a few copy edits too including the Alt1. It's good to go with either hook. Alt1 is stronger in my opinion. Philafrenzy (talk) 20:12, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
