  • ... that Frederick Langenheim made the first set of panoramic pictures (one pictured) of Niagara Falls and a sequential set of pictures of the first American total solar eclipse since photography was invented?

Source 2 is The Metropolitan Museum of Art - On May 26, 1854, the Langenheim brothers made eight sequential photographs of the first total eclipse of the sun visible in North America since the invention of photography.
Source 3 is Preserving America’s Space History by Roland Miller on page 3 - On May 26, 1854, they recorded an annular eclipse of the sun in a series of eight small daguerreotypes, depicting what was the first such solar event visible in North America since the invention of photography.

  • Comment to Promoter - Can this be placed #1 in the queue with picture? Thanks!--Doug Coldwell (talk) 20:54, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
@Doug Coldwell: According to the DYK rules, you will need to include the photograph in the article if you want it to be included in the hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:28, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Cwmhiraeth: The photograph is next to Panorama of Niagara Falls by Langenheim and has as a caption "#2 of the 5 images" - will that work? Maybe the caption should be changed - what do you think? Otherwise it doesn't have to be #1 in the queue. It happens to be my 500th DYK. Thanks!--Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:38, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
So it is, I didn't see it. Congratulations! Your articles are always interesting and worthwhile. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:48, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
