Francis Henry Medcalf[edit]

Francis Henry Medcalf

5x expanded by 97198 (talk). Self nominated at 08:24, 30 September 2014 (UTC).

  • Expanded from 225 bytes to 1856 bytes (5x expansion, at least 1500 bytes) and nominated for DYK two days later, satisfying length and date criteria. No copyright or close paraphrasing. Nitpick: "he held master positions at various Orange Order lodges in Toronto", but source states this for 1854-1862; he was lodge grand master of Canada West in 1862-1864, which I think is worthy of mention. The article could also mention his 1971 run in the provincial East Toronto riding. Neither of these is required for DYK, but please consider updating the article anyway. I'd also like to see other sources added , since most of the article is based on the first source, and the second may have some bias (an order to which he belonged). Hook is short and all parts sourced. QPQ completed. Image is in public domain and suitable for DYK. Only outstanding requirement is to add another source or two (a quick internet search finds quite a few reliable sources). Mindmatrix 18:56, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
  • @Mindmatrix: Thanks for the thorough review and suggestions! I've added the facts you mentioned that I missed, as well as two new sources. 97198 (talk) 05:31, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Good to go. Assuming good faith for the two new references, as Google Books does not show the preview for me. Mindmatrix 12:59, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Must be a custom in Toronto. The current mayor has been spaced out for much of the last 12 years. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:41, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
