• Verified GA promotion. No problem with article. Five different hooks proposed, yet I think they all suffer a bit in interest. How about:
• ALT5:...that New York City's first municipal airport, Floyd Bennett Field, was not commercially successful due to its location in Brooklyn?

@MB: Thanks for the review. I will do the QPQ shortly. In the meantime, I think ALT5 needs a little more detail for people who aren't familiar with NYC. For instance,

• ALT6:...that New York City's first municipal airport, Floyd Bennett Field, was not commercially successful due to a lack of limited-access roads between Manhattan and the airport? Sources: (1) Federal Writers' Project NYC Guide, pp. 503-504. (2) Floyd Bennett Field, p. 8.

I think ALT5 is more "hooky" leaving an unanswered question whereas ALT6 is overly wordy. Perhaps:

• ALT6A:...that New York City's first municipal airport, Floyd Bennett Field, was not commercially successful due to its remoteness from Manhattan?
