Female Red Guards of the Finnish Civil War[edit]

  • Article is new enough (recent GA), long enough, neutral, and well referenced. No copyvio found. However, I have trouble verifying the hooks. Ref #20 which supports the text in the article is a dead link, and the only online source supplied above seem to mention only execution but not rape (as per Google translation). Please fix the dead link and provide specific text from the source(s) which mentions the rape. Please also provide a link to a specific QPQ template rather than a general list of reviews you've done. -Zanhe (talk) 23:51, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
  • NB there's no requirement for sources to be available online, but it is indeed necessary to place a citation directly next to the salient facts ("over 400... were shot" and "many were raped") and helpful to give the relevant quote from the source in the citation. Sionk (talk) 16:53, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
  • Of course not, but the problem is that the online sources that have been provided do not seem to support the hook, which raises questions about its credibility. -Zanhe (talk) 17:52, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
@86.115.14.101: Many thanks for salvaging the link. (Any idea as to why it went down in the 2 days since the GA review?)
@Zanhe: QPQ review: Template:Did you know nominations/Danzig Street shooting The link, reference 20 in the article, is to a University of Lapland summary of the research paper. It reads in part (free translation) "Many of the surviving [women] prisoners gave accounts of rape, involving both Finnish soldiers and guards and German soldiers." (I have not referenced to the full paper on the grounds that it is effectively unverifiable.) Gog the Mild (talk) 21:17, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks to IP for fixing the dead link. Google translation (which seems pretty poor for Finnish) roughly verifies the hook, which gives me enough confidence to accept it AGF. QPQ is now provided. Good to go. -Zanhe (talk) 23:35, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
