  • ... that for surrendering the unconquerable fortress of Tinos (pictured) to the Ottomans its commander was sentenced to death by drinking liquid silver?

  • Article still needs some cleanup and improvement of citations. Some small changes would improve the clarity of the hook: right now, "to the Ottomans its commander" doesn't flow all that well. I think the agreement of "its" with "Tinos" not "Ottomans"—which is grammatically obvious—could be made syntactically clearer. ("The Commander of Tinos was sentenced to death for surrendering his supposedly unconquerable fortress to Ottoman attackers"?) The article and especially the hook fact would really benefit from some more scholarly references; right now it's a lot of tourism websites and other so-so sources. Thanks for your work, past & future. groupuscule (talk) 03:09, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
