Dwarka[edit]

Dwarkadessha Temple
Dwarkadessha Temple
  • ... that the Dwarakadhisa Temple in Dwarka (pictured), a five storied edifice built over 72 pillars has a spire of 78 metres (256 ft), and a very large flag with symbols of the sun and moon hoisted on it?

  • Recently passed good article. Nominated the day after approval. Long enough, neutral, sources cited, no apparent copyvios, photo appears to be in PD. QPQ done. Hook is within character count. I have two problems, one is that I am confused by the 60 pillars mentioned in the Britannica source and the 72 pillars mentioned on page 21 of Bansal. This is confusing to be in the middle of the hook statement. Would be better to cite discrepancy in a note-Something like it is on 72 pillars (see note) and then have the note explain some sources say 60. (I have verified with other sources the sun and moon flag and the height of the spire, as parts of the Bansal citation are obscured, thus would be AGF on the citation.) There are 4 citations with glaring red harv errors that should be fixed before the article goes on the front page. SusunW (talk) 13:54, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
  • @SusunW: Thanks for the review. The four references with harv errors were introduced by some other user after GA approval whose text edits have been repeatedly reverted. I have removed all the four references now. As the 72 pillars issue is concerned I have mentioned it in the note in the text itself within brackets giving a reference. As part of this reference seems to be AGF in your laptop, I have added another reference supporting the hook text. As the pillar issue cannot be fully clarified in the hook text I am modifying the hook as

GTG. New source and hook are acceptable. And I much prefer this placement of "pictured". It is of the temple, not the city ;). Also the red glare is gone. Thanks. SusunW (talk) 13:49, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
