Cristiada (film)[edit]

Flag carried by Cristeros (Catholic rebels) fighting the Mexican government

  • ... that Lauren Markoe compared the persecution of the Catholic Church as depicted in the 2012 film Cristiada to the Obama administration's contraception policy?

  • Expansion length and dates check out as OK. Article has some bare-URL references that need to be fixed up before this can go to DYK. Also, I have some concerns about the proposed hook. The hook and the article describe this as if it were Lauren Markoe's opinion, whereas the source has her describing this as a view of the U.S. Roman Catholic hierarchy. This is a huge difference. In her review of the film, she quotes and cites several Catholic leaders (including Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez, the National Catholic Reporter, and the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus) who express versions of this view, but she does not claim to agree or disagree with them. Revise the article and hook to more accurately represent what the source says. --Orlady (talk) 14:55, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
  • The quote is her opinion. The quote appears in the beginning of the article and there is no attribution nor qualification. Without any attribution whatsoever we must assume that what she wrote is what she meant. – Lionel (talk) 06:37, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

  • New hook needs reviewing, and previous issues should be checked as well. Striking out original problematic hook in case "X" icon is not understood in the context of a hook as opposed to the entire nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:00, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Article and ALT1 are OK. --Orlady (talk) 07:46, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
