Seems fine to me. Date and length are fine. Image is in the public domain. Hook is intriguing but a bit awkward. How about:
ALT2: ... that Caractacus (pictured), winner of the 1862 Epsom Derby, avoided disqualification because of the weight of his bridle? - Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
