Rule H11 of the DYK rules is that an article about a work of fiction must employ a hook which involves the real world in some manner. Please fashion a hook about the real world (and not the joking ALT1 hook.)

OK. How about ALT2: ... that while Bad Dirt: Wyoming Stories 2 was poorly received critically in comparison to Close Range: Wyoming Stories, one of the short stories in the collection won the 2004 Aga Khan Prize for Fiction? --Shirt58 (talk) 11:54, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
That works! You could also replace Close Range: Wyoming Stories with "the author's previous work" to focus hits on the new article. Length and date check out, the article is suitably referenced.
