zorses are cool[edit]
Wikipedia Zorse article says Zebra Stallion and Horse mare OR VICE VERSA. Is that true? According to this: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?objectid=10448585, it only works when the father is a Zebra, so there is no vice versa.

Zebra Stallion + Horse Mare = Zorse. Zebra Mare + Horse Stallion = Hebra. Same thing but different names. 66.63.86.156 (talk) 13:01, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Are they the same thing? I think at least some hybrids have genuine differences depending on which species was which parent. (If e.g. certain traits are caused by genes carried by the Y chromosome). 62.172.108.23 (talk) 15:24, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Generally differences in which is the stallion and which the mare, varies the size and coloring of the offspring, but are very similar. Naming changes, as you mentioned, from zorse to hebra. Labrat3004 (talk) 14:56, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Fertility[edit]

Merger proposal[edit]
Merge Zony into Zorse. There is a large overlap because ponies are nothing more then a breed of horse. Having zonies as a subsection of the zorse page would be adequate.Sir Robert "Brightgalrs" Schultz de Plainsboro (talk) 00:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- First of all, ponies are not a breed of horse - they are phenotypically different from each other. There are many different breeds of ponies, just as there are many different breeds of horses. That being said, I can definitely see the sense of this proposal. Support for now, unless something comes up that I'm not seeing. Dana boomer (talk) 02:03, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm OK with it also. We do, however, also have the catchall article zebroid, and also another spinoff zonkey. I kind of wonder if all these should be merged into one comprehensive article.
