History section[edit]

The 'History' section currently has a brief point on Zoom experiencing an outage, which doesn't seem that noteworthy, as most services experience them from time to time and it seems to be the only such case? I do believe the section could be expanded with some history of the app changing and expanding, stuff like support for new devices, etc. Could be touched upon briefly so it doesn't copy the lower sections but makes the History one a bit meatier. As of now it's mostly data on how the app grew. Would that be appropriate or, perhaps, anyone has any other ideas how to utilize the space? ASpacemanFalls (talk) 17:14, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Evaluation[edit]

This article is useful to the general-eye but still requires substantial editing. The content is well-written and up-to-date. However, there are some imbalances with certain viewpoints and information. For instance, the Content under features and Usage are not proportionate compared to the Reception section. Considering the main aspect of this page is to inform readers about the software, there should be more organized content about the features provides as well as how the software is used. There could be more images to explain the usage and features of the software. For example, there isn't any content on the screen-sharing and break-out room features that Zoom's software provides. Also, this imbalance can distract the reader from the software and focus more on Zoom's security issues. Aside from the content, the lead section is misleading. There isn't a specific sentence that touches upon Zoom's privacy and security which is a large section on the page.

There is a variety of sources. It is concerning the number of newspaper articles as part of the sources since they can be biased. There is still a good amount of reliable sources that fall under valid sources. However, there should be more reliable sources.

The talk page seems to make attempts at organizing the content on what should be more important than others, as well as content edits. The article is rated C-Class with high importance and is part of WikiProjects. In class, we've discussed the issues that arise when trying to perform certain features of the software like screen-sharing and breakout-rooms. However, this article talks more about the privacy and security issues that arise.

Overall, there needs to be content added and organization with the layout of the page. It provides easy-to-follow content despite the missing and imbalanced content. Still, the article is well-written and useful. — M.morales12 (talk) 19:28, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

class-action lawsuit[edit]

An updated version of this article should include mention of the recent settlement in a class-action lawsuit over Zoom's sharing of users' profiling information. - phi (talk) 20:45, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
