Could someone disambig the Ziggy link from [1]?

I removed the fact that a spliff is sometimes refered to as a "Ziggy". It seems likely that this in reference to Ziggy Marley, and either way, we need some evidence that this refers to this specific Ziggy.

It’s not comix if it’s a single panel—you cannot have a sequence of one. —Wiki Wikardo 10:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Physiologist?[edit]

The article says that there's a running gag about Ziggy talking to a physiologist. I think maybe the writer may have meant "psychologist" or "psychiatrist." I'm sure that a physiologist would be interested in Ziggy's bizarre bodily proportions, but I see that the man who Ziggy consults with doesn't have a tape measure, calipers, or an x-ray machine, as a physiologist would use on him.

This article refers to another artist's work being the catalist for the creation of "ZIGGY". I know this to be untrue. "ZIGGY" existed in an un-named book form long before being Syndicated by Universal Press Syndicate. It was only after being syndicated that the character required a name. Mr. Wilson arrived at the name ZIGGY after much deliberation. He thought that it should end in "Y" as to be 'friendly' sounding. "Z" was natural for the character as it was the last letter in the alphabet. The rest just fell into place. I know this to be fact for having been present during this actual process. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.254.26.100 (talk) 21:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC) Scott Haley 17:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

This edit reverted a revision I had made that removed the trivia section on this article. The edit summary read "Rv; unless you integrate it into the article, that's just blanking." I removed the trivia section because none of the information there contains any encyclopaedic value and its relevance to the article is tenuous as most of them relate in name only. Wikipedia's policy states that articles should not have a section with a number of loosely connected facts, and that these sections should be removed or incorporated when possible. They cannot be incorporated so I have removed them. Cumulus Clouds 20:33, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have removed a second trivia section which had been titled "In Popular Culture" but contained only points that were eliminated within the previous trivia section. Please do not add further trivia to this article, if you are unsure whether or not it is trivia, please consult WP:TRIVIA and/or post it on the talk page for other editors to review. Thank you. Just dropping a note that in 1962 the U.S. television series Perry Mason, S5 Ep23 Absent Artist, mentions a widely syndicated comic strip named Zingy. Bob Enyart, Denver KGOV radio host (talk) 22:53, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article desperately needs attention[edit]

This article needs to be expanded with relevant information, needs to be proofread for grammar and sentence structure, requires more than one subject heading and desperately needs citations. W. Marsh removed the Unreferenced template from this article saying that fact tags should be stuck on any disputed material, and that the article "has citations." The article has one poorly formatted citation for a single sentence that was wallowing in the trivia section I mentioned above. I have since moved it to the main portion of the article, deleted the trivia section and replaced the deleted template with Template:cite_sources. I will continue to work on rewriting the opening, expanding the article and providing sources for any questionable content. I encourage other editors to do the same. Thank you. Ziggy description[edit]

This article desribes Ziggy as a "small, bald, pantless, barefoot, almost featureless character (save for his large nose) who seems to have no job, hobbies, or romantic partner."

This is not accurate at all. We frequently see Ziggy working at a desk with an "in" and "out" box, which leads me to believe he has some sort of job. He also is shown engaged in various hobbies from time to time, including fishing.

This article needs some work, with attention to accuracy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.73.75.198 (talk) 20:33, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Observation[edit]

This article doesn't seem to be sure as to whether it's about the character or the (depressingly unfunny) comic.74.33.174.133 (talk) 18:10, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Animated version?[edit]

Does anyone have any information on animated version that was produced in the mid-80s? And should that be here, or in a separate article? DS (talk) 02:08, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
