Closing the discussion as it has become moot due to the deletion of the draft article. Geoff | Who, me? 16:27, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon: A merger with Draft:Zholia Alemi has been suggested. Looking at the draft article, there is nothing in it that is not covered in this article, with the exception of one sentence about how many patients Alemi treated in Tayside and an address for Alemi, which is inappropriate for biographies of living people. The draft article was created by a new account which only made contributions during a week in January. Therefore I would suggest simply deleting Draft:Zholia Alemi.Southdevonian (talk) 12:52, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose deletion for now, let draft sit to bring over info, and it can later turn into a redirect. Histmerge doesn't make sense since they seem to be separate constructions. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:55, 24 February 2023 (UTC) updated 21:54, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:Southdevonian, User:AngusWOOF - Okay. I was never suggesting a history merge, but a regular merge. If there is nothing in the draft that is not in the article, the draft can either be left alone, or redirected to the article. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:21, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I should clarify that I oppose only the deletion of the draft. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 21:53, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominations to delete a draft because there is an article are not uncommon at Miscellany for Deletion. They are usually closed as Speedy Redirect, with the alternatives being Redirect or Merge. Drafts are not deleted simply because there is an article. So User:AngusWOOF is correct. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:24, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
