Additional IATA code[edit]

XNB code is another code for Abu Dhabi International Airport. Flights to XNB are physically arriving to AUH, but include free bus transfer to DXB. Oddly, XNB is formally considered a Dubai International Airport code. Etihad Airways offers flights to XNB on their website, while major flight meta searches are ignoring this code and combining it with DXB. I am considering adding this code as an alternative to Dubai International Airport, instead of Abu Dhabi International Airport because this is how it is marketed everywhere. Let me know if there are any objections. Internetyev (talk) 11:05, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Aiport Fact Table[edit]

I request that Abu Dhabi International Airport page has a table like most airport pages on Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.42.2.11 (talkcontribs) 09:58, March 18, 2006 UTC.

Competition section[edit]

The competition section is in need of an overhaul. It reads like a poorly translated advertisement or press release, and has no references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.56.129.69 (talk) 05:55, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name problem with destination[edit]

Erbil has 3 names, Arbil, Erbil, and Irbil. It should just be called Erbil since it sounds like the most popular name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.89.35.142 (talk) 02:01, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actual runway lengths[edit]

A couple of editors have gone back and forth regarding runway lengths, so I took a moment to measure the actual values from the Google satellite imagery, dated 25 April 2012:

31L 13470' (13846' w/BPs) x 150' = 4106m (4220m w/BPs) x 46m
31R 13451' (14310' w/BPs) x 199' = 4100m (4362m w/BPs) x 61m

I took the measurements from the outer edge of the threshold markings, in the same way that the FAA does it in the U.S. (and I assume is some sort of ICAO standard). These are, of course, nowhere near the 4500/4800m values cited, nor is the ratio between them. I checked that GE is measuring correctly within the precision of resolution being used (approx +/- 1'). It is possible that the whole image tile is mis-magnified, but then I would expect at least the ratio between the two runways to match the 16:15 in the article. If anyone's good at spotting plane types, the measured wingspans and lengths could be compared against specs to verify the imagery's accuracy. Also, is there a high-precision source for the runway endpoint co-ordinates, like we have in the US?

Assuming we find the imagery to be correct, why are the supposedly official numbers so far off? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 14:28, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As for your last question, the easiest answer is looking back at the edit history. Seems like I haven't been reverting edits from the India Statistics Vandal (61.17.X.X and 121.146.X.X) early enough. I just found an edit in September that significantly lengthened both runways. HkCaGu (talk) 18:51, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just did a major cleanup. Never imagined my busy traveling weekend of October 19-21 would still be haunting me now. We should be watching this article for the byte-size and edits from those two IP ranges. HkCaGu (talk) 01:00, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article states the design of the Midfield Terminal is by SOM. This is not correct as the design is by Kohn Pedersen Fox

Jet Airways operated by Etihad Airways[edit]

We should add a row in the Airlines and destinations column to distinguish which destinations are flew nonstop to by Jet Airways aircraft and cities that are flew nonstop to by Etihad Airways aircraft. 2601:646:C401:9A42:749F:36D6:1BD2:D9EE (talk) 08:08, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
