Untitled[edit]

i have removed the title Imam from both ali ibn abi talib and husayn due to fact that they are only known as Imams by the shia and the actually names should be used which represents the majority Muslim view

Previous version is 12ers biased[edit]

Claims and Quotes brought in by 12ers scholars make the article biased in their Favor. If 12ers want to have section in the article to discuss their view it should be at the bottom of the article (which Should be clearly marked that it is their view.)

I have deleted the long bottom section of this article, pure fiction...

Removed 12er biasAl-Zaidi (talk) 04:08, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not twelver or Zaidi. Yet, I respect Imam Zaid as the Imam before Jafar Sadiq. As for the edits, if you can find sources for your claims then post them if not, don't delete sourced materialAl-Zaidi (talk) 05:05, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is 75% fiction and lies[edit]

I have deleted the middle paragraph of this article, pure fiction and fantasy tales.

you seem to be really good at arithmatic to be able to reach at such a conclusion please extend your services to the Wiki Maths portal as well where they are in a greater need, rather than waste your energy on a biographical account Hussain 10:01, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think Hadrat Zayd-e-Shahid (as) is also in sunni tradition

Just re-wrote the article to give it a more neutral tone, but it could still use some cleaning up and some referencing. Slackerlawstudent 05:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was no reason to remove the account of Zayd's rebellion from this article, as it belonged in a biograophy of Zayd. Perhaps, though you or someone else could expand the new article you created (Zaydi Revolt) to provide more detail about the circumstances of the rebellion. Everything after about line 10 of the current version is not suitable for an encyclopedia, as it is a copy-paste of a long, non-neutral article (but you could link to the original source if you like). Slackerlawstudent 11:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I arranged the article in a fashion that only non religious material is considered the main section. All references to Zayd ibn Ali in texts mentioned in Sayyid-Ali Al-Zaidi's article " A short history..." is in the section of other literature. As for your work on Zayd ibn Ali's role in the 740 rebellion, i dedicated an entirely new page to the revolt and placed all your research in the article Zaidi Revolt. Al-Zaidi 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Article improvement[edit]

The article has been re done and reformatted to reflect the actual Zaidi history and background rather than a 12r biased account. Imam Zayd ibn Ali was not a 12r in any sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.27.15.83 (talk) 18:57, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Major rewrite and cleanup required ASAP[edit]

This article is 1) badly sourced, 2) goes off on huge tangents, especially in the section Reforming the Umayyad rule from the inside, and 3) Written with poor language. Normally, I would undertake this task myself, but there are a couple of reasons I want a team here. I want neutrality, and I want a consensus among all the different parties involved.

I will represent the Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah here, and I would like one representative each from the Zaydiyyah, the Imamiyyah, and the Ismailiyyah. This way, we will ensure a neutral discussion, and we will ensure that all our sources are reliable and agreeable. If a member each of the Zaydiyyah and the Imamiyyah could please contact me (just leave a message here if you are interested) then we can get to editing this right away, since Zayd ibn Ali is not as prominent a figure to the Ismailiyyah as it is to three parties aforementioned.

Anybody else who wishes to contribute is free to give their input, but I ask you to refrain from editing this article without consulting the team that will be working on it.

Wa Salam, ReallyFat B. 09:49, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This article is about Imam Zayd bin Ali (as), and it only presents a 12r shia view. Why is the author so bias ? What about a section for the sunni and Zaydi view ?

Copyvio in the section about his death[edit]

I've been digging through this article's history and found out that the section about Zayd's death initially had references, among others to a work titled "Peshawar Nights" by Sultanu'l-Wa'izin Shirazi. That same diff, however, was a revert of copyvio removal. After a bit of googling, I found an online version of "Peshawar Nights" and indeed the section about Zayd's death is copypasted content. I am therefore replacing that section by something less copyvio, with less POV and better refs. --HyperGaruda (talk) 18:20, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hadith prophesying his Death[edit]

I doubt the validity of the Hadith, In سير أعلام النبلاء - الجزء الخامس mentions this as following رأيت النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كأنه متساند إلى خشبة زيد بن علي ، وهو يقول : هكذا تفعلون بولدي

At the same time the vision in other texts is related to the son of Imam Hussein Ali

Other references mention this Hadeath

I tried to find the exact Hadeath mentioned in the text but couldn't find it

Middle Eastern people of Pakistani descent?[edit]

An unregistered editor added the category "Middle Eastern people of Pakistani descent", before I reverted it. Zayd ibn Ali was a Sayyid, Hashemite, Qurayshi, Adnanite, Ishmaelite Arab from the Hejaz in West Asia, who lived long before the creation of Pakistan in South Asia! In what way was he of Pakistani descent? Leo1pard (talk) 06:28, 24 January 2024 (UTC); edited 06:41, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
