Style[edit]

To clarify, per the Language of Scouting (the BSA style guide), Youth Protection is always capitalized, as it is a specific BSA program. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 17:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

I think this article has a very bad title. It does not say this is about Scouting and it does not say it is a BSA Program. In fact the term is used in other countries. See my local set up - Victoria Scouts in section 11. I suggest renaming it to "Scout Youth Protection programs" and making it an international page. --Bduke 21:36, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Disambiguation, we only need to disambiguate if there are similar articles- there are none in the articlespace. I'm not stuck on this, so we could go with Youth Protection program (Boy Scouts of America). This article only has about half of the content as yet- it is pretty much a frame. If we make this an international page, then we have to strip this to a section, otherwise it will be unbalanced towards the BSA (as many other articles are). Perhaps Youth protection in Scouting and Guiding or some such would be a better solution (lower case 'p' on this as it would not referring to a specific program). --Gadget850 ( Ed) 23:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

Does anyone have a history of when the first books for the different levels of Scouting first had youth protection sections in the front? This really changed the Scouting program and put "front and center" the ideas of youth protection. These dates would be more specific than the general "1980s" in the current article.MikeVdP (talk) 23:51, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
