This article requires a drastic tidy-up, firstly to bring it up-to-date, and - more importantly - to comply with NPOV. It contains no reference to Smits' controversial pronouncements on topics such as sexuality <http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/12/120406latvia.htm>, and is rather overly-laudatory. The #Politics section of the article is a copypaste of [1], added on User:Prilonsk99 0’s edit. Since then it has received minor edits (e.g. bold font and addition of full stops), but the content is nevertheless identical. —LOL 14:13, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Janis Smits redirects to this page, but the politician Janis/Yanis Smits of the Politics section of this page was born in 1968, so he can't be the same person as the Rev.
