Wolfgang / Wulfgang[edit]

This article is not correct. The name wulf stems from the Vikings, who wore a wolfskin on their backs, and like to be called wolves. See the book by Martin Arnold: The Vikings-Wolves of War. The term werewolf also stems from them. Also remember the Beowulf story and his mention of the Wulfinga dynasty from Sweden.

Wolfgang means in old German a wolfgänger (see also Doppelgänger). In the time of roman wars, the wolfgänger were a member of Germans special forces, wearing an wolf fur. ( Ger – man = man using a ger, a special kind of a spear)
