Shouldn't it be noted that the song is basically about eating pussy?[edit]

I mean, it is quite obvious. Plus, Nicki Minaj is a self confessed bi-sexual. --Josecarlos1991 (talk) 02:53, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No source confirms this. What does Minaj being bi-sexual have to do with anything? If the song is referring to heterosexual interactions as Minaj and Aguilera both refer to men in their lines. Candyo32 (talk) 03:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Everyone finds hidden messages in songs true or false. This shouldn't be noted as her being bi-sexual is deffinately not proof of anything.125.238.96.175 (talk) 07:04, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, that has nothing to do with the song. The lyrics can be interpreted any way you want but it is unnecessary and inappropriate to mention your theories . --CheezeDoodles (talk) 00:40, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It does not necessarily mean she is bi. however, the song is about vaginas, and that should somehow be noted considering it is part of the song's "background" (at least technically).

Sample[edit]

Shouldn't it be mentioned that "Woohoo" samples the song "Add már, uram az esöt" as performed by Kati Kovács? The sample is credited in the album booklet.--141.35.189.15 (talk) 09:18, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, just saw that it already was mentioned.--141.35.189.15 (talk) 21:30, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cover Debate[edit]

There has been a debate on if this image is the official single cover or not, well its not. It was originally found at this link. According to this its a fan man cover made by someone named "Juanka Campos" If it was an offical cover it would say made by "Offical". (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 23:27, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely fan art. All it is one of her album promo photos for some odd reason zoomed in on her eye. And it just doesn't look like a professional cover. Even if it were the official it needs a reliable source. Candyo32 (talk) 23:35, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fake, coverlandia has even tagged it as a fanmade. No debate here. Sorry. (removed image as copyright vio). Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:39, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Second or third single[edit]

Three singles have been released from the album:

Therefore three singles have been released overall (3 in the US, 2 internationally). This makes "Woohoo" the second single from the album, "You Lost Me" is therefore the third single. Singles refer to songs released from the album not songs released in certain countries. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:32, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the sources in the article prove NOTHING that the single was ever released. The iTunes source to say it was released as digital download is no longer valid, as well as the radio release date. So therefore, without proper confirmation, this article should be moved. No accurate source confirms this is a single. (apeaboutsims) (can't login)--59.101.193.247 (talk) 04:12, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The rhythmic add date is there, and there are plenty of other online sources to find to back-up the DD claim. Face it, Woohoo was released as the second single in the US
No its not, look again. The source now looks at this weeks future releases, and when you search WooHoo, nothing comes up. And then, if there are other online sources, find them, and use them. But at this point, the article is inaccurate.--59.101.193.247 (talk) 05:27, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
PLease stop trying to throw a shoe in this. This has been discussed several times on the Bionic talk page. Woohoo is the second US single. Candyo32 (talk) 13:22, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the IP comments are wrong. MTV (which is an accurate source) says that "Woohoo" is the second single and coverage of her performance of it also refer to the second single. Just because an artist puts a single on hold or pulls promotion for it doesn't mean that its not a single. It was released → fact, it was sent to both radio and iTunes → fact, It recieved indepedent coverage → fact. So as much as i dont want to call it a single ... IT iS. Regards, --Lil-unique1 (talk) 13:35, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not trying to say that it isn't a single in the u.s. that's not what i was on about. I am stating that you are using a source that states that 'WooHoo" was sent to radio airplay? You view that source and NOTHING about woohoo is mentioned. The link needs to be replaced or the article will become inaccurate. The itunes source also DOES NOT give any info about WooHoo being released separate for download before the albums release date. There are no dates, so again, that source is incorrect to. If MTV say that, that's fine, but this page MUST have accurate sources--59.101.132.191 (talk) 05:30, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MTV sources are provided. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:07, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted expired links found in the article. Radio add link is no longer valid, and iTunes link gives no information about a release date before release of album.--Morgan3136 (talk) 09:09, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The table has been deleted. None of those date's were sourced. When they were, the source's were inaccurate. Thanks for removing them. Until source's can be found, table shall not exist, which also means this song cannot be in the singles category. However, the article is well written, so it should be kept. Which MTV source confirms "Woohoo" as a single anyway?--Jackex56 (talk) 09:28, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is getting outrageous. Table re-added with rhythmic airplay link. I know you Xtina fans don't want to face it but it was sent to radio as the second single and MTV has called the song the second single as well as its writer, Claude Kelly. Face it and stop making this a big deal. Candyo32 (talk) 15:54, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Single Cover?[edit]

It seems a lot more official then some others.

It really might never get one since her label is practically denying that it's a single. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4015/4590573294_237375f414.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cprice1000 (talkcontribs) 03:54, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no official single cover for Woohoo. Candyo32 15:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Official single debate[edit]

I know this has been discussed before, but I think it should be brought up again. When it comes down to it, "Woohoo" didn't get an official single release. The song has no official cover, was only released digitally as a part of the pre-order of Bionic, after it leaked online and has no music video. All things aside, just because a song charted and was released digitally does not make it an official single. And if it was to be an official single, there would be a cover when it was released on iTunes, instead it just the cover of Bionic. I don't wish this article to be deleted, I just think it should be downgraded to a song template.
With love, ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Send me a message) 17:14, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just because a song does not get a cover or video treatment doesn't mean it is or is not a single. Since it was already released digitally only radio add dates are used to tell US-only singles, and Woohoo has one. I know for a fact this has been discussed at least 20 times on both this talk and Bionic, Not Myself Tonight and You Lost Me's talk pages, and it does not need to be brought up again and it has been addressed time and time again. Candyo32 18:15, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Single Cover[edit]

soo yeah the official single cover is out (and has been) and I myself and wayyyyyy to lazy to upload it so if you wanna make a better looking article you can include it! :]

Minaj has just started an official website, that is run by her and her management found here: http://mypinkfriday.com/

and the music page (http://mypinkfriday.com/releases) contains the single cover: http://groundctrl.s3.amazonaws.com/media/02/00/large.421596b9s8tr.png

Charts[edit]

Ok, According to this article. "WooHoo" charted on the Billboard 100, and Canadian 100. BUT, on the source, it states the song never charted. AllMusic also states the same thing. So shouldn't those charts be deleted?--JackSUNxD (talk) 07:12, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked at both sources and neither state "WooHoo" charted. I will go through and delete any information regarding WooHoo charting on those charts. It seems that information was added into the article and it wasn't checked.--Apeaboutsims (talk) 07:45, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yet again I'm mentioning this, but...[edit]

Looking at Talk:Dance in the Dark#Promo_single, they brought up some very good points. And pretty much the same things can be said for this song. This really should be changed to a promotional single. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:17, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a different situation. "Dance in the Dark" did not receive a radio add date. "Woohoo" did. Candyo32 23:19, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it did. The song was released to 2 different radios and had a digital download release. What's the difference? I mean, really? Come on. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:26, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lemme quote what the page says, promotional recording "A promo single (short for promotional single) is a single that is made available to nightclubs, radio stations, music publications, and other media outlets by a record label for the express purpose of promoting a new single or an entirely new album." For one, it was released with Bionic pre-order digitally. And I know it is original research to say this, but it's quite obvious that it was released to gain more interest in other songs the album had to offer since "Not Myself Tonight" wasn't doing it. Obviously, this kind of things seems to be somewhat controversial on Wikipedia, but really; there's no source from her label saying it was a single at some point, so I think it's best to categorize it as a promo single. And just because her label doesn't mention it in which I saw someone assume that it was "because it did bad." That doesn't have to be the case. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:33, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well I would consider the discussion on the DITD page as anything to go by, as there are only a few participants discussing it. Also, the radio thing is usually just for US radio, because CD singles rarely released over here. Woohoo was released to US radio. DITD was French and Australian radio, where they still receive CD singles. So yet again, this is different. Also the quote you pulled from the promotional single page is unsourced. Actually, the whole page is unsourced. Candyo32 23:36, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It may be somewhat different, but it still works the same way. It may have only been released in the US, but that doesn't mean it can't be a promotional single. I honestly don't understand what the big deal about it being considered an official single. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:43, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well you keep bringing up "Why not a promo single?" but the same thing can be said for "Why not an official single?" More signs (i.e. US rhythmic airplay date) point towards an official single release than promo. Candyo32 23:47, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you're talking about, but it still doesn't make much sense.

I must add something Lil-unqiue said in Talk:Pink_Friday#Check It Out: Round 2: "A song release is not automatically classified as a single. It must be promoted as one..." Was this song promoted as such? She performed it once (as part of a medley,) never mentioned it and saying "because it flopped and she wanted to ignore the fact it was released" applies no actual evidence. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:54, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to radio is promotion of the highest extent. Candyo32 00:26, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is a different situation. "Woohoo" was made available for digital download and sent to rhythmic radio stations in the US. As for "Dance in the Dark", it was released as a promo download in Belgium and later released only for radio adds in Australia and France. –Chase (talk / contribs) 00:48, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Echoing what Chase said, "Woohoo" got the typical single combination which is download/radio add while Australia ONLY got download as a promo and Australia and France ONLY got radio adds. Candyo32 00:50, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Minor factual correction: Belgium got a digital promo release, while the song was sent for adds in France and Australia. –Chase (talk / contribs) 02:40, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not just the US[edit]

This was released digitally in more countries. See [1] [2] [3] --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:27, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other release dates

So, I guess this means this had a worldwide release? --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 22:16, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, idk. Since its initial release in the US was promo, is it safe to say it was a worldwide promo? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 23:11, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A worldwide promo is stretching what a promo is. :) --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 23:15, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think its safe to say "Woohoo" was released in limited countries, as a promotional single ahead of the album's release. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:29, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well essentially, isn't the lead correct now, "The song was released as a promotional single on May 18, 2010, and later was serviced to rhythmic airplay as the album's second single on May 25, 2010." It doesn't misinform you. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 02:58, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that it was released independently of the album, and in most territories before the album, shows it was a promotional single before it was serviced to radio because now other markets are involved the US stuff has to step aside a little. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 03:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Still kind of confused here, but – "The song was released in numerous countries as a promotional single preceding the album on May 18, 2010. It later served as the album's second single in the United States, being serviced to rhythmic airplay on May 25, 2010." ?
Yeah that's better. And then obv expand release history, plus change iTunes Digital download → Digital download etc. :) -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 03:19, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
