Requested move 29 June 2022[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. WP:NAMECHANGES, cited by both sides, states that we have to wait for independent sources to adopt the name change, which seems to be unlikely to be fulfilled right now, as the name change has not even happened yet. Such a discussion might be more fruitful some months from now, after the name change actually goes into effect. (closed by non-admin page mover)Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! Prince Andrew High SchoolWoodlawn High School (Nova Scotia) – This is the current name of the school. QueenofBithynia (talk) 12:33, 29 June 2022 (UTC)— Relisting. —usernamekiran (talk) 18:38, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per WP:NAMECHANGE and the fact they are disassociating from The Duke of York for his Jeffery Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell connections. cookie monster 755 16:37, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – What is the standard geographical disambiguator for schools? Do we typically use the province name where it's more succinct, or would we use the city (i.e., "Dartmouth, Nova Scotia")? Graham (talk) 04:53, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell, existing titles aren't consistently one way or the other. I'm fine with the proposed "(Nova Scotia)". Adumbrativus (talk) 03:36, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Too soon. This isn't going into effect until August 1, so we don't have any reliable sources routinely calling it Woodland High School yet, so I don't think we have qualified for WP:NAMECHANGES quite yet. Fully support as soon as we have any sources calling it such. --Cerebral726 (talk) 20:31, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
