Untitled[edit]

Hi! I am in a WGS class at LSU and me and my partner Aimee' Brien will be working with this article for the remainder of the semester. We plan on adding a bit if information to it such as standpoints from both sides of the debate in Germany on if women's parking spaces are sensible or sexist. We also plan on adding more information about the history of women's parking spaces and what led to this becoming a thing in the first place. My partner and I would also like to add a paragraph on "Today" and how women's parking lots are not necessarily needed today.

Motorists with small children[edit]

Some supermarkets have spaces reserved for customers with babies or small children. I will try to get a photo of such a sign.--DThomsen8 (talk) 15:32, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

These may be called family parking spaces. A picture of a pram can be painted on the space. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:52, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

with parking like that, maybe it's best that she has her own parking space... Spacecowboy420 (talk) 13:58, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate representation of a source[edit]

I've never done work on Wikipedia, so forgive me if I'm doing things wrong. This article came up in a discussion on Reddit, specifically this paragraph in the "By Country, Germany" section:

″According to the Hessian State Office of Criminal Investigation, the furnishing of women's parking spaces is an ideal means of raising women's feelings of safety. However, according to federal criminal statistics published by the German police, molestation and attacks on women occur no more often in parking garages than in other places. In Hesse, in 2003, only one of 1000 crimes in parking garages was sexual in nature.″

Emphasis mine.

I reviewed the source this paragraph cites, and I couldn't find any breakdown in gender to support the claim I bolded.

Additionally, the report states that 4 of the 3308 crimes were sexual in nature. I'm not sure why the article writer decided to alter the numbers into an approximation, when it saves practically no text.

I don't know how to flag things for review or fixing, so if someone more knowledgeable in how Wikipedia works could look into this, I would appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.237.89.184 (talk) 22:25, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
