Flintstones

This article should mention they sponsored the Flintstones (likely) in an attempt to market towards children: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O5pA1k0JBI&search=flintstones

  • The Flintstones were considered an adult cartoon when that commercial aired. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.184.72.247 (talk) 00:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Removal of "Cigarette brands" category

I have removed Category:Cigarette brands from this article because Category:R.J. Reynolds brands is a sub-category of the former. It defeats the purpose of having this subcategory if we're going to list the articles in both. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:51, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Quantum smooth

The main thing I am addressing is the "varieties" listing. It lists only "Full Flavor", "Light", and "Ultra Light". However, there is also the "Quantum smooth" Brand, which has been available for years. Though a bit harder to find, Winston Quantum smooth has been available for nearly a decade, and can still be bought at over half of the stores that sell the flagship Winston styles where I live.

There is also the "Winston Select" line of premium cigarettes, though they are nearly impossible to find now, so they may very well be discontinued.

Finally, there is the paragraph about Winston cigarettes being "100% Additive Free". Although they we're sold as additive free for a while, they quit doing this 2 years ago, after the federal tax increase on cigarettes. So I think the paragraph stating that needs to be completely replaced, because it doesn't mention that they are no longer additive free until the end of the article. Also worth mentioning is that Winston is now considered a "value brand", that is, it cost more than the discount brands like Pall Mall and Maverick, yet is still cheaper than the so called name brands like Marlboro and Camel. Just a thought. There has got to be some other completionests like me out there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.250.155 (talk) 01:59, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Salsa Erotica

The reference provided for the statement that winstons are linked to the salse erotica movement contains zero information to support this claim. This link talks about winston advertizing in Puerto Rico, and mentions a variety of cultural ties, but not salsa specifically. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leannet3 (talkcontribs) 17:31, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
